Hello Friends! Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Katie Martinez. I carry many titles, to list a few current ones that are important to me: Child of God, Wife, Mother, Licensed Massage Therapist, DoTERRA Wellness Advocate, a Dreamer & a Doer. At this point in my life I have the privilege to be many different things to many different people. I try my best to give each title the attention it deserves (I often find myself coming up short. Sometime it seems that there are just not enough hours in the day). I'm trying to figure it all out. I have learned in life that to be successful it is very important to seek out mentors (people that provide you with wisdom and advice in their area of expertise). Lately, I am finding a lot of wisdom and encouragement from the great American writer and artist, Dr. Seuss who illustrated this moment in my life so perfectly with his eloquent words, "So be sure when you step, step with great care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed). Kid, you'll move mountains." I'm convinced that almost everything we accomplish in life is 80% mental and 20% action. We certainly can move mountains, if we decide to. The reality of trying is that sometimes we will fail, and that's ok too. You cannot fail if you aren't trying. So keep going!
We are only 4 months into 2017 and I have already experienced an extraordinary amount of change and growth, both personally and professionally. A vision that came into my mind two years ago, FINALLY became a reality just last month. It took a crazy amount of preparation, time, renovation (thanks to my amazing husband for making my dreams come true with his creativity & drive!) & faith, but WE DID IT! We opened up our own business. You know when people say, "team work makes the dream work"? It is very true! And I just so happen to have THE best team! (shout out to my family and everything you each brought to the table to make this possible). House of Therapy (the new family biz) is a collaboration of talents combined to serve our community. As a licensed massage therapist I have had the pleasure of helping my clients release stress, tension, and pain; and gain peace, range of motion, and healing for the past five years. It has been deeply rewarding to know that God is using my career to bring positive change to others. The funny thing is, I gain a good amount of positive change in the process. I absolutely LOVE what I do and I have become very passionate about providing natural outlets for pain and stress management. This passion drove me to take the things that are very important in my life and create that vision that we now call, House of Therapy. (stay tuned for more details about what we do at House of Therapy to come in the next blog post)
In the midst of all of the renovations for the new business, we were also experiencing a lot of change at home. From the time period of dream to reality, I added two new members to the team! Yes...two new, beautiful baby girls! (for a grand total of three daughters). Their smiles and laughs brighten up my days and make my life so much more fulfilling. People always say that you don't know how much you can love someone until you have a child. There are truly no words. Sometimes I feel like my heart might actually explode. Wife and Mother are two of my favorite titles and chasing this dream has been the most exciting adventure to take together. It isn't easy, but I will always encourage my girls to believe in their dreams and turn them into goals. My greatest goal is to enjoy this life with the ones I love, explore the world with them and pour into others as much love and healing as I can (obviously, God is the Healer, I'm just His hands).
Thank you for taking the time to allow me to share a small window into my world with you! I am excited about my journey and to share more with you along the way! We are all in a constant state of learning, healing & growing. You are always welcome at House of Therapy to explore areas of your life that you may need to learn, heal or grow. We are always a work in progress and there really isn't anything like community and support.
